Adele - Rolling In The Deep

(for as long as Vevo lets me ... just want to introduce her)

This young lady from England just turned 23 on May 5th !!! She also co-wrote this song as well. Helluva voice she's got. This song of hers spoke to me, speaks for me. Love it.

There's a fire starting in my heart,
Reaching a fever pitch and it's bringing me out the dark,

Finally, I can see you crystal clear,
Go ahead and sell me out and a I'll lay your shit bare,
See how I'll leave with every piece of you,
Don't underestimate the things that I will do,

There's a fire starting in my heart,
Reaching a fever pitch and it's bring me out the dark,

The scars of your love remind me of us,
They keep me thinking that we almost had it all,
The scars of your love, they leave me breathless,
I can't help feeling,

We could have had it all,
(You're gonna wish you never had met me),
Rolling in the deep,
(Tears are gonna fall, rolling in the deep),
You had my heart inside of your hand,
(You're gonna wish you never had met me),
And you played it to the beat,
(Tears are gonna fall, rolling in the deep),

Baby, I have no story to be told,
But I've heard one on you and I'm gonna make your head burn,
Think of me in the depths of your despair,
Make a home down there as mine sure won't be shared,

The scars of your love remind me of us,
(You're gonna wish you never had met me),
They keep me thinking that we almost had it all,
(Tears are gonna fall, rolling in the deep),
The scars of your love, they leave me breathless,
(You're gonna wish you never had met me),
I can't help feeling,
(Tears are gonna fall, rolling in the deep),

We could have had it all,
(You're gonna wish you never had met me),
Rolling in the deep,
(Tears are gonna fall, rolling in the deep),
You had my heart inside of your hands,
(You're gonna wish you never had met me)
And you played it to the beat,
(Tears are gonna fall, rolling in the deep),

Could have had it all,
Rolling in the deep,
You had my heart inside of your hands,
But you played it with a beating,

Throw your soul through every open door,
Count your blessings to find what you look for,
Turn my sorrow into treasured gold,
You'll pay me back in kind and reap just what you've sown,

(You're gonna wish you never had met me),
We could have had it all,
(Tears are gonna fall, rolling in the deep),
We could have had it all,
(You're gonna wish you never had met me),
It all, it all, it all,
(Tears are gonna fall, rolling in the deep),

We could have had it all,
(You're gonna wish you never had met me),
Rolling in the deep,
(Tears are gonna fall, rolling in the deep),
You had my heart inside of your hands,
(You're gonna wish you never had met me),
And you played it to the beat,
(Tears are gonna fall, rolling in the deep),

Could have had it all,
(You're gonna wish you never had met me),
Rolling in the deep,
(Tears are gonna fall, rolling in the deep),
You had my heart inside of your hands,
(You're gonna wish you never had met me),

But you played it,
You played it,
You played it,
You played it to the beat.

First ramble of 2011 haha

I tell you, it's been a weird few months. But good in some ways as well.

I had found I was just getting a tad too antsy about things. Things that shouldn't have bothered me as much as they did. I do suspect getting antsy about some things were to avoid dealing with other things like I should have.

Got to say some things are a blessing in disguise. Like my laptop crashing when it did. Even if it was weird. Things were fine and dandy before I went to visit my friend Jean up north for a few days last August. Even the Saturday the kid and I were leaving it was working fine. Goodness knows she and I were emailing each other back and forth while I was trying to get the kid and I packed up and out of here haha. Strange huh ? But we had hit a snag in those emails. I sent her an email the night before, teasing her about her excitement of us coming. She took it the wrong way and the email she sent the next day ? Well, if I had read it, I wouldn't have gone. So our visit got off to a bad start and didn't get a whole lot better while I was there. Pretty much ready to call the friendship quits. I had even told her previously that she didn't need me as she had made new friends there etc etc. The day the kid and I came home is the day I found my laptop had died. And I don't mean the hard drive. Had replaced that a few months earlier. This time it was the motherboard and my computer geek lady said that replacing it would cost just as much as a new one, pretty much. And considering how much trouble she had finding a hard drive for an old laptop (came all the way from North Carolina, I think), it was better to just give my laptop a burial of a sorts. Even if it was really hard to do that. I didn't want to say bye to it. It was my lifeline of a sorts. Helped me sort a few things out within myself. And gave Jean and I a much needed break to heal.

The hard part was leaving behind some important people in my online life. No word of warning to you. And I was very lost.

Finally stopped moping around and caught up on some favorite books I had read before. Even found some new favorites.

Ranted and raved about the injustices of having to have two jobs and ranted that neither were doing what I needed them to do, all the while being thankful I did have them.

Got loads of yarn and started crocheting afghans again. Even tried my own pattern and after working on it and ripping it out a dozen times, finally found one I liked, even if it was a known pattern modified haha

My second job has changed. I'm no longer a 'sporadic' spare driver. Two drivers were let go within months of each other since January 1st, which opened up a spot for me to work three days a week, regularly. And three days in a row is considered full time with the transit position as you put in 36 hours in those three days. Whew. The third day was, and is, a hard thing to get used to. Even though I was only driving, I was exhausted by the time I got home Saturday nights. But believe me, I was so very thankful that I was making more money and able to get back on top of things around here. Just meant I had to tell my other boss what was happening. He was not happy and wondered why I wasn't happy doing just the school bus and leaving the transit as the 'extra' pay instead of vice versa now. So I told him. As nicely as I could too. The obvious lack of charters/school field trips were killing me. No, I didn't expect to get preferential treatment and get more than a fair share just because I became a 'single mom'. But it really irked me that a particular driver was scooping ALL the charters, even out of my schools, and what he turned down, another grabbed them and he had six years less seniority than me. Plus competing with a particular couple that the boss had worked with before. Wondered what I had to do when the transit job sort of fell into my lap. He wanted two weeks notice but being as this new thing was going to start the week of our March Break, it wouldn't really affect him for two and a half weeks anyways. And it was nice to have some breathing space when it came to paying the bills and getting everything caught up.

Then the transit job changed again. The town that we ran in decided that being available 14 hours a day was a good thing. That boss, the one that hired me and runs the transit system for now, called one day and said I would be getting an extra two hours a day, six hours each week, which meant an extra 12 hours on my pay. What ?? Thought he had lost his mind actually. We are under the same rules and reg's as other professional drivers ... eg truck drivers .. in that we cannot drive more than 13 hours without having a solid 8 hours off. He figured it didn't apply to 'him' and he could do whatever he wanted. Someone called the department of transportation on him, he was not happy because they told him flat out that he had to follow the rules and reg's or suffer thousands in fines. So now, instead of doing three 12 hour days, we are doing five 7 hour days. Yeah, we have some issues lol. Over the pay cut ... and not just the hour we lost .... plus other things that have cropped up. And no, he doesn't want a meeting to discuss them, so the drivers are kind of at a loss. Morale and respect has gone downhill. Some are even considering a 'work to rule' thing if the issues don't get solved soon. But still, we're glad we have a job.

Because of the pay difference between both jobs, picking up more hours with the transit job actually got me a new laptop ... a Lenovo Think Edge .... sooner than I would have if I had to rely on just the school bus pay. And what with summer coming up, it might have been another year before I made it back. Called my computer geek lady and gave her an approximate date on when I can finally swing it. She had this thing at her place for two weeks (she called and ordered it right away, apparently) and told me to take my time, no rush. How happy was I when I finally got to call her a bit sooner than I thought and ask 'when is a good day for you to have me come and get it?' haha

Then I pop over to Multiply and I'm looking at my site and thinking 'and how much did I forget in the meantime?' A lot, apparently. Took me a whole day to figure out how I got near the codes I needed to get at to change my site hahahaha

And yes, I'm very glad I'm back.
