(I loved this story. What a lesson!)
Back in September of 2005, on the first day of school, Martha Cothren, a
social studies school teacher at Robinson High School in Little Rock,
Arkansas, did something not to be forgotten. On the first day of school,
with permission of the school superintendent, the principal and the
building supervisor, she took all of the desks out of the classroom.
The kids came into first period and there were no desks. They obviously
looked around and said, Ms. Cothren, where're our desks? And she said,
You can't have a desk until you tell me how you earn them.
They responded, Well, maybe it's our grades. No, she said.
Maybe it's our behavior. And she told them, No, it's not even your
behavior.
And so they came and went in the first period, still no desks in the
classroom. Second period, same thing, third period too. By early
afternoon television news crews had gathered in Ms. Cothren's class to
find out about this crazy teacher who had taken all the desks out of the
classroom.
The last period of the day, Martha Cothren gathered her class. They were
at this time sitting on the floor around the sides of the room. And she
says, Throughout the day no one has really understood how you earn the
desks that sit in this classroom ordinarily. She said, Now I'm going to
tell you.
Martha Cothren went over to the door of her classroom and opened it, and
as she did 27 U.S. veterans, wearing their uniforms, walked into that
classroom, each one carrying a school desk. And they placed those school
desks in rows and then they stood along the wall. And by the time they
had finished placing those desks, those kids, for the first time I think
perhaps in their lives, understood how they earned those desks.
Martha said, You don't have to earn those desks. These guys did it for
you. They put them out there for you, but it's up to you to sit here
responsibly to learn, to be good students and good citizens, because
they paid a price for you to have that desk, and don't ever forget it.
Friends, I think sometimes we forget that the freedoms that we have are
freedoms not because of celebrities. Our freedoms are because of
ordinary people who did extraordinary things, who loved this country
more than life itself, and who not only earned a school desk for a kid
at the Robinson High School in Little Rock, but who earned a seat for
you and me to enjoy this great land we call home, this wonderful nation
that we better love enough to protect and preserve the solid values and
principles that made us a great nation.
We live in the Land of the Free, because of the brave.

Scorpions - Send Me An Angel
There I was, listening to the 5th Dimension sing about Aquarius, and I thought 'heyyyyy what about me?' lol. Actually, it was nice to hear it again on Spaceeagles blog, and feeling left out, he made me an honorary Aquarian. Which was very nice and Thanks again SE. So, I thought I would do one of my favorite songs. The group's name in just co-incidental (yeah rite you say lol) Truthfully, the song is one of my favorites and the groups name suits me just fine *wink* (video is under the lyrics if you want to hear it)
Send Me An Angel - Scorpions
Music :rudolf schenker
Lyrics:klaus meine
The wise man said just walk this way
To the dawn of the light
The wind will blow into your face
As the years pass you by
Hear this voice from deep inside
It's the call of your heart
Close your eyes and you will find
The passage out of the dark
Here i am
Will you send me an angel
Here i am
In the land of the morning star
The wise man said just find your place
In the eye of the storm
Seek the roses along the way
Just beware of the thorns
Here i am
Will you send me an angel
Here i am
In the land of the morning star
The wise man said just raise your hand
And reach out for the spell
Find the door to the promised land
Just believe in yourself
Hear this voice from deep inside
It's the call of your heart
Close your eyes and you will find
The way out of the dark
Here i am
Will you send me an angel
Here i am
In the land of the morning star

Visitors Guestbook
While I don't wish to deny anybody the opportunity
to leave a comment, if they so desire,
I did decide to make my main guestbook for contacts only.
If you have anything positive or negative about my page
or anything I've said in a group you have seen me in,
you can post it here.
Varying opinions are welcome.
I won't hold it against you.
Welcome to my nuthouse hahaha
After A While
After a while, you learn the subtle difference
Between holding a hand and chaining a soul,
And you learn that love doesn't mean leaning
And company doesn't mean security.
And you begin to learn that kisses aren't contracts.
And presents aren't promises,
And you begin to accept your defeats
Wtth the grace of God, not the grief of a child.
And you learn to build all your roads on today
Because tomorrow's ground is too uncertain for plans,
And futures have a way of falling down in mid-flight
And after a while you learn
That even sunshine burns if you get too much.
So plant your own garden and decorate your own soul,
Instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers.
And you learn that you really can endure.....
That you really are strong
And you really do have worth
And you learn and learn.......
And with every goodbye, you learn.

Sometimes
Sometimes the road of life
becomes unbearable and it seems
to be easier to give up than go on.
But you should remember that
there is light at the end of the tunnel.
For every tear; you will smile,
for every rainy day; there will be a rainbow,
and for every moment of every day,
forever and always
there will be someone
to love you and confide in.
I will always be there for you.
To carry you over the rocky roads
and lead you through the tunnels.
To share with you the smiles,
the tears,
the rainy days
and the rainbows.
Whenever you need me I will be there.
......God

What is a friend?
What is a Friend ? I will tell you.
It is a person with whom you dare to be yourself.
Your soul can be naked with him, he seems to ask of you to put on nothing, only to be what you are.
He does not want you to be better or worse.
When you are with him, you feel as a prisoner feels who has been
declared innocent.
You do not have to be on your guard.
You can say what you think, so long as it is genuinely you.
He understands those contradictions in your nature that lead others to
misjudge you.
With him you breathe freely.
You can avow your little vanities and envies and hates and vicious
sparks, your meanness and absurdities and, in opening
them up to him, they are lost,
dissolved on the white ocean of his loyalty.
He understands, you do not have to be careful.
You can abuse him, neglect him, tolerate him.
Best of all, you can keep still with him.
It doesn't matter. He likes you.
He is like fire that purges to the bone.
He understands, he understands.
You can weep with him, sin with him, laugh with him, pray with him.
Through it all -~~ and underneath ~~ he sees, knows, and loves you.
A Friend? What is a Friend ??
Just one I repeat, with whom you dare to be yourself.

Three Mysteries
Study Carefully ... I'm not going to make it easy on you. You can't flip the bottom of the page for the answers. And flipping your monitor upside down won't help you either. I'll just have to come back and 'edit' this blog for you in a bit. (I know, I'm evil haha)
-------------------------------------------------------------
Mystery one
A man was found murdered Sunday morning. His wife immediately called the police
The police questioned the wife and staff and got these answers:
The wife said she was sleeping.
The cook was preparing breakfast.
The gardener was gathering vegetables.
The maid was getting the mail.
The butler was polishing shoes in the pantry.
The police instantly arrested the murderer. Who did it and how did they know?
----------------------------------------------------------
Mystery two
A man walks into his bathroom and shoots himself right between the eyes using a real gun with real bullets.
He walks out alive, with no blood anywhere and no, he didn't miss and he wasn't Superman or any other crusader wearing a cape.
How did he do this?
------------------------------------------------------
Mystery three
Old Mr. Teddy was found dead in his study by Mr. Fiend. Mr. Fiend recounted his dismal discovery to the police:
'I was walking by Mr. Teddy's house when I thought I would just pop in for a visit. I noticed his study light was on and I decided to peek in from the outside to see if he was in there. There was frost on the window, so I had to wipe it away to see inside.
That is when I saw his body. So I kicked in the front door to confirm my suspicions of foul play. I called the police immediately afterward.'
The officer immediately arrested Mr. Fiend for the murder of Mr. Teddy.
How did he know Mr. Fiend was lying?
------------------------------------------------------
C'mon, you know you know these. *wink*
